New KegMobil® struts its stuff at the Turf

Beer is big business at Turf Bar & Restaurant in Melbourne, which means the cellar staff need to move a lot of kegs around every week.

With concern for the health and safety of his staff, general manager Caleb Eustice was only too happy to try out a prototype of the new KegMobil® keg cart.

“It certainly eliminated the back-breaking work of taking our beer delivery this week,” says Caleb. “We have to move the kegs up a level and down in the lifts, and KegMobil®  makes this much easier.”

Cellar manager Nick Cass agrees. “It not only makes the job easier, it’s quicker too,” he says. “I also like the fact that it can be adjusted so easily to take different sized kegs.”

Located centrally in Queen Street in Melbourne’s CBD, Turf Bar & Restaurant is part of the successful P.J. O’Briens group with outlets located around Australia.

Turf Bar is a favourite for city workers during the week and for sporting fans over the weekend, due in no small part to its reputation for serving a wide variety of fresh draught beer. “We have a real commitment to serving great beers on tap, and that means we have a busy cellar,” says Caleb.

KegMobil® may be new to Australia but it is a firm favourite in Europe, Canada and America. Soon to be manufactured locally, this simple but effective keg-moving cart is made from durable steel with 6-inch non-marring wheels.

Cellar and bar staff can move kegs of any size with one hand, using an ergonomically designed handle that takes away stress and strain on the back.

“It makes sense to use KegMobil®  rather than move kegs around manually,” says Caleb. “It’s easier for our staff and it’s much safer. When did you say it was available in Australia…?”

KegMobil® is available from KegMobil® Australia Pty Ltd and selected resellers .
